Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) , located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, is a university established with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, under the leadership and management of Guangdong Province. Applied public undergraduate level colleges and universities established by Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Government. In 2015, the Shenzhen Municipal Government began to build Shenzhen University of Technology. In March 2016, the General Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government issued a notice on the establishment of Shenzhen University of Technology Preparatory Office. In July 2017, Shenzhen Municipal Commission for Institutional Establishment issued a notice on the establishment of Shenzhen University of Technology. On November 30, 2018, Shenzhen University of Technology was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, with independent enrollment, identification code 4144014655, and positioning as an application-oriented higher education institution. On March 22, 2024, it was selected as a recommended university for applying for new master's degree granting units in Guangdong. As of December 2023, the school covers a total area of 605,200 square meters, including 154,549.89 square meters of classrooms and 116,518.32 square meters of laboratories and practice places. With a gymnasium area of 31606.0 square meters, the school has 17 colleges. By April 2024, the library of Shenzhen University of Technology has a construction area of 75,000 square meters, with a total collection of about 631,300 volumes, 153 Chinese and foreign databases, 1,664,500 volumes of electronic books, 2,154,300 volumes of electronic journals, and 15,459,900 volumes of academic disserations. The university offers 39 majors, which cover 5 disciplines including engineering, science, management, art and literature. There are 648 full-time teachers, including 108 professors, 188 associate professors, 324 assistant professors and lecturers. The discipline leaders of the college are all national-level high-level talents recognized by domestic and foreign peers [28]. The total number of undergraduate, master and doctoral students in the university has exceeded 12,000.
